When your physician recommends home respiratory care, you need to find a company that provides the equipment and expertise to help keep you feeling your best. Corner Home Medical’s licensed respiratory therapists use the latest technology and advanced equipment to assist adults reliant on respiratory care.

Understand Respiratory Home Care

Our staff will help you find a system that fits your specific needs. Each of our respiratory therapists knows how to provide the best care for a variety of conditions.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

COPD refers to either emphysema, chronic bronchitis, or a combination of both illnesses. As the name suggests, patients with COPD suffer from partially obstructed breathing. They will often experience shortness of breath (SOB), wheezing, coughing, and tightness in their chests.

If you are diagnosed with COPD, your physician might recommend home oxygen therapy, which allows you to receive the extra oxygen your body requires. At Corner Home Medical one of our Respiratory Therapists can assess your oxygen needs, enabling them to fit you with the best equipment for your lifestyle.

Long-Term Ventilator Care

If you are dependent on a ventilator, a respiratory therapist from Corner Home Medical can assess you or your loved one’s equipment needs. Our licensed respiratory care staff will then train family and caregivers on many of the necessary skills to keep you safe, comfortable and in your home. We will work with you to develop a care plan for regularly scheduled follow-ups and maintenance. We also provide 24/7 emergency visits when necessary.

Congestive Heart Failure

The term congestive heart failure is often misunderstood. “Failure” indicates that your heart doesn’t pump and move blood around your body as it should. Your heart’s failure to move blood efficiently causes congestion (a buildup of fluid) in your body.

Because CHF can make it difficult to breathe, physicians will sometimes recommend oxygen therapy to help ease their patient’s symptoms and reduce the heart’s workload.

Non-Invasive Ventilation

If you are diagnosed with chronic respiratory failure, NIV therapy is used to assist your breathing while asleep, and when awake if necessary, to conserve your body’s energy and allow your heart to rest. NIV is the administration of ventilatory support via a mask or mouth piece, sometimes referred to as open mouth piece ventilation.
